Amphoe Chum Phae ( Thai : อำเภอ ชุมแพ , other spelling: Chum Pae , Choompae ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Khon Kaen . The province of Khon Kaen is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Phu Kradueng of Loei province , the Amphoe Si Chomphu , Wiang Kao , Phu Wiang and Nong Ruea the province of Khon Kaen, the Amphoe Ban Thaen , Phu Khiao and Khon San of Chaiyaphum province , and ultimately Amphoe Phu Pha Man again from Khon Kaen.

history

The area of ​​today's Chum Phae County was already populated in prehistoric times. The ruins of the city of Non Mueang date back to the Dvaravati period.

The district's establishment was published in the Royal Gazette on August 3, 1943. It originally consisted of the Tambon Chum Phae, Si Suk, Non Han and Khua Riang.
