Amphoe Phon ( Thai : อำเภอ พล ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the south of the province of Khon Kaen . The province of Khon Kaen is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise): Amphoe Waeng Noi , Waeng Yai , Chonnabot , Non Sila and Nong Song Hong in the province of Khon Kaen and Amphoe Bua Lai and Prathai the province of Nakhon Ratchasima .

traffic

The main town, Mueang Phon, has a train station on the northeast line of the Thai railway ( Nakhon Ratchasima – Nong Khai line ). The Thanon Mittraphap ("Street of Friendship"; National Road 2) runs through the district .
