Amphoe Bua Lai ( Thai : อำเภอ บัว ลาย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Nakhon Ratchasima . The province of Nakhon Ratchasima is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Bua Lai District borders the following counties (from north clockwise) to the Amphoe Waeng Noi and Phon the province of Khon Kaen , as well as to the Amphoe Prathai , Sida and Bua Yai in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

history

Bua Lai was first established on July 1, 1997 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating its area from the Bua Yai district .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

The main town of Nong Bua Lai has a train station on the northeast line of the Thai railway ( Nakhon Ratchasima – Nong Khai line ). The Thanon Mittraphap ("Street of Friendship"; National Road 2) leads through the eastern part of the district .

Local administration

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Nong Bua Lai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนองบัว ลาย ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Bua Lai.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Mueang Phalai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เมือง พะไล )
  • Non Chan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โนน จาน )
  • Bua Lai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บัว ลาย )
  • Nong Wa (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง หว้า )
