Amphoe Chum Phuang ( Thai : อำเภอ ชุมพวง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the east of the province of Nakhon Ratchasima . The province of Nakhon Ratchasima is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Chum Phuang borders the following counties (from the south clockwise) Huai Thalaeng , Phimai , Prathai , Mueang Yang and Lam Thamenchai in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, and at Amphoe Lam Plai Mat the province of Buriram .

history

Chum Phuang was first established in 1956 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating its area from Amphoe Phimai . In 1959 it was promoted to Amphoe.
