Amphoe Chaloem Phra Kiat ( Thai : อำเภอ เฉลิมพระเกียรติ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the east of the province of Nakhon Ratchasima . The province of Nakhon Ratchasima is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from the north): the Amphoe Non Sung , Chakkarat , Chok Chai and Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima - all counties are in the Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

history

On December 5, 1996, five tambon were separated from Chakkarat district to create the new Chaloem Phra Kiat district. It is one of five counties in Thailand of the same name. All were founded on the same day to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the throne of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) .

traffic

The main town Tha Chang has a train station on the northeast line of the Thai railway ( Nakhon Ratchasima – Ubon Ratchathani route ). The Thanon Mittraphap ("Road of Friendship"; National Road 2) leads through the northernmost tip of the district .
