Amphoe Phra Thong Kham ( Thai : อำเภอ พระ ทองคำ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Nakhon Ratchasima . The province of Nakhon Ratchasima is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Phra Thong Kham District borders the following counties (from north clockwise) to the Amphoe Chatturat and Noen Sa-nga of Chaiyaphum province , and to the Amphoe Khong , Kham Sakaesaeng , Non Thai and Dan Khun Thot in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima.

history

Phra Thong Kham was initially set up on July 15, 1996 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating the tambon Sa Phra, Thap Rang, Phang Thiam, Nong Hoi and Map Krat from the Amphoe Non Thai .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

The district of Phra Thong Kham is divided into five tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 75 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Sa Phra (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สระ พระ ), consisting of parts of the tambon Sa Phra.
  • Phra Thong Kham (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พระ ทองคำ ), consisting of the remaining parts of the tambon Sa Phra.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Map Krat (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล มา บ กราด )
  • Phang Thiam (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล พัง เทียม )
  • Thap Rang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ทัพ รั้ง )
  • Nong Hoi (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง หอย )
