Amphoe Khon Buri (in Thai : อำเภอ ครบุรี ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the south of the province of Nakhon Ratchasima . The province of Nakhon Ratchasima is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Chok Chai and Nong Bun Mak of Nakhon Ratchasima, Amphoe Nong Ki the province of Buriram , Amphoe Soeng Sang of Nakhon Ratchasima, Amphoe Watthana Nakhon and Mueang Sa Kaeo the province of Sa Kaeo , Na Di district of Prachinburi province, and Wang Nam Khiao and Pak Thong Chai district of Nakhon Ratchasima.

history

In the past the place was called Ban Khon Buri. As it grew over time, it was renamed Mueang Khon, and eventually its current name, Khon Buri.

In 1907 the area was a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) of the Chok Chai district , it was then called King Amphoe Chae because the center was in Tambon Chae.

Since the Tambon Khon Buri was quite far from the Amphoe Pak Thong Chai , the administration was merged with the King Amphoe Chae in 1939. At the same time the district got the full amphoe status and was renamed "Amphoe Khon Buri".

Local administration

There are five municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Oraphim (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล อร พิมพ์ ) consisting of the entire Tambon Oraphim.
  • Khon Buri Tai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ครบุรี ใต้ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Khon Buri Tai.
  • Chorakhe Hin (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จระเข้ หิน ) consists of parts of the tambon Chorakhe Hin.
  • Chae (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แชะ ) consists of parts of the Tambon Chae and Ban Mai.
  • Sai Yong - Chai Wan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ไทร โยง - ไชย วาล ) with parts of the Tambon Khon Buri and other parts of Khon Buri Tai.
