Matthew "Matt" Williams (born May 9, 1985 in Tonimbuk , Victoria ) is an Australian show jumper.

Life

Matt Williams was born in Tonimbuk near Melbourne in 1985 . After initially living in his native country, Williams moved to Europe in 2004. First he worked for the British show jumper Duncan Inglis in West Sussex , three years later he moved to Henk Nooren's stable in the Netherlands .

At the Olympic Games in Hong Kong he reached 7th place with Leconte as part of the Australian team, in individual he came 21st.

Until the end of 2010 he took part in international horse shows in Europe and Switzerland. He later moved to the United States, where he lived in Wellington, Florida .

At the Olympic Games in London 2012, he was eliminated on the first day after two refusals from his horse Watch me .

Private

His younger brother Sam was also active as a show jumper.
