Hendrikus Everhardus Franciscus "Henk" Nooren (born August 23, 1954 in Bergen, Limburg ) is a former Dutch show jumper and one of the most sought-after trainers worldwide.
Career
After leaving school, he studied business administration, but dropped out after just one year. At the age of 20 he moved to Warendorf and became a student of the equestrian legend Hans Günter Winkler .
In 1976 he rode with Jagermeester at the Olympic Games in Montreal and finished 13th in the individual. At the European Championships in Vienna in 1977 , he won team gold with Johan Heins , Anton Ebben and Harry Wouters van der Oudenweyer . The following year they won the silver medal at the World Championships in Aachen , where he was also seventh in the individual ranking with Pluco . In 1981 he won the European Championship in Munich in a team with Emiel Hendrix , Johan Heins and Rob Ehrens team bronze .
Today he is one of the most sought-after coaches worldwide. He was the Spanish , Swedish and French national trainer for show jumpers. He also trains Marcus Ehning and Kevin Staut, among others .
Private
Henk Nooren's father was a riding instructor and former Dutch master of show jumping. Nooren has two younger siblings: sister Ariane and brother Joke. His daughter Lisa Nooren is also active as a show jumper.
