Lauren Hough (born April 11, 1977 in Goshen, New York ) is an American show jumper .

In February 2012 she was on the 38th place in the world rankings.

Private

Hough was born the daughter of show jumper Champ Hough and eventing rider Linda Hough. She lives in Wellington ( Florida ) and Belgium . Lauren Hough lives with Mark Phillips .

Career

In 2000 she started at the Olympic Games in Sydney and finished sixth with the team and fifteenth in the individual. In 2009 she won the Nations Cup in Rome with the US team . At the Pan American Games in 2003 , she won team gold with Windy City as part of the US team. Four years later she won team bronze with Casadora and was 26th in the individual ranking.

In May 2010 she won the Global Champions Tour stage at the Hamburg Derby with Quick Study .

On November 17, 2011, at the Stuttgart German Masters , she had a serious fall with her mare Blue Angel when she got stuck in the wall. She left the arena on foot, but after an examination at the hospital she was diagnosed with broken ribs and an ankle joint dislocation. In addition, a lung collapsed and her eyesight was impaired. She was released from the hospital three days later and flew to Wellington to recover in late November.

At the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015 , she won the bronze medal with Ohlala in both the individual and team competition.
