Ocean Ridge is a city in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 1786 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

The city is located on a barrier island in front of the Atlantic Ocean . It borders on Manalapan to the north, Boynton Beach to the west and Briny Breezes to the south . Florida State Roads A1A and 804 run through the city .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1786 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 1561 households. The population density was 1984.4 inh / km². 97.5% of the population identified themselves as white , 0.2% as African American and 0.8% as Asian Americans . 0.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.0% to several ethnic groups. 4.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 49.9% of all households lived in 12.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 52.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.88 people and the average family size was 2.52 people.

12.1% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 9.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 48.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 59 years. 48.4% of the population were male and 51.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 68,750, with 7.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 91.09% of the population, 3.45% spoke French and 5.46% spoke another language.

crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 175 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There were three robberies, 14 personal injuries and 30 break-ins.
