Hypoluxo is a city in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 2588 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

The city is 15 km south of West Palm Beach . US Highway 1 runs through the urban area , and Interstate 95 passes in the immediate vicinity in a north-south direction.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 2588 inhabitants were distributed over 2208 households. The population density was 1725.3 inh / km². 87.9% of the population identified themselves as white , 7.0% as African American and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 1.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 6.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 14.4% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 31.1% of all households. 48.9% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.84 people and the average family size was 2.43 people.

13.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 32.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 49 years. 46.3% of the population were male and 53.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 51,952, with 8.6% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 86.65% of the population, 5.38% spoke French and 7.97% had another mother tongue.

crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 107 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There was one robbery, one assault, eight break-ins and 41 thefts.
