North Palm Beach is a municipality in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 12,015 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

The community is located approximately 6 miles north of central West Palm Beach . The community area is crossed by US Highway 1 and Florida State Roads A1A , 5 and 850 . In addition, Interstate 95 passes North Palm Beach in the immediate vicinity to the west .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 12,015 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 7,710 households. The population density was 1306 inhabitants / km². 93.3% of the population identified themselves as whites , 2.7% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.3% to several ethnic groups. 6.9% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 42.0% of all households lived in 16.6% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 52.1% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.97 people and the average family size was 2.63 people.

15.5% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 17.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 36.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 52 years. 48.9% of the population were male and 51.1% were female.

The median annual income was $ 62,587, with 6.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 92.78% of the population, 3.91% spoke Spanish and 3.31% had another mother tongue.

The crime rate in 2010 was 168 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There were nine robberies, 15 personal injuries and 80 break-ins.
