Ludwig Ring-Eifel

Ludwig Ring-Eifel (* 1960 in Trier ) is a German journalist. He is the editor-in-chief of the Catholic News Agency (KNA).

Life

After graduating from high school, Ludwig Ring-Eifel studied philosophy , theology , religious studies and classical philology at the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Trier, Mainz and California . From 1984 to 1986 he was a member of the Trier City Council for the Greens. In 1987 he started as a news editor for the FAZ . Since 1990 he has reported for church media, including the Catholic News Agency (KNA) in Bonn. He was the editor-in-chief of the magazine “continenten” in Cologne. In 1996 he became the Rome correspondent for the Catholic news agencies kathpress, KIPA and KNA.

Since 2005 he has been editor-in-chief of KNA and successor to Helmut S. Ruppert . He is involved in the KNA Promedia Foundation , a funding initiative for young Catholic journalists, and has been a member of its advisory board for many years.

He accompanied John Paul II on 13 trips abroad and has written several books. He lives in Berlin with his wife and two children.
