Miyazu ( Japanese 宮 津市 , - shi ) is a Japanese city in the north of Kyōto Prefecture on the island of Honshū .
history
Miyazu is an old castle town , at whose castle under the Tokugawa the Daimyō Kyōgoku (1600), Nagai (1669), Abe (1681), Okudaira (1697), Aoyama (1717) and finally from 1778 until the Meiji Restoration the Honjō resided with 70,000 koku incomes.
On June 1, 1954, Miyazu received town charter.

- Within the urban area is Amanohashidate with the "Sky Bridge", a tourist attraction that is considered one of the three most beautiful landscapes in Japan .
- The Nariai-ji ( 成 相 寺 ) temple, the 28th temple on the Saigoku pilgrimage route .
