Maizuru ( Japanese 舞 鶴 市 , - shi ) is a Japanese city in the north of Kyoto prefecture . It is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan .
history
Maizuru was founded on May 27, 1943 .
After the end of the Second World War, the port of Maizuru was the return point of many soldiers and civilians interned in the Soviet Union. The Maizuru Repatriation Memorial Museum deals with this topic. The document collection of the museum was in 2015 by the UNESCO for World Soundtrack Awards explained.
