Takahama ( Japanese 高 浜 町 , - chō ; lit .: "high seashore / high coast") is a small town in the district of Ōi in Fukui prefecture in Japan .

Takahama was last in the international headlines on January 15, 2007 due to an incident at the Takahama nuclear power plant . In Takahama there are four pressurized water reactors with a total output of 3220 MW.
