Ōi ( Japanese お お い 町 , -chō ) is a municipality in Ōi County in Fukui Prefecture in Japan .

The Ōi nuclear power plant with four pressurized water reactors is located in the municipality , construction of which began in 1972 and which began operating between 1979 and 1993.
