Katsuyama ( Japanese 勝 山 市 , -shi ) is a Japanese city in Fukui Prefecture .

history

Katsuyama is an old castle town where a branch of the Ogasawara clan last resided (until 1868) . The place received on September 1, 1954 the status of a city.
