The Obama Line ( Japanese 小 浜 線 , Obama-sen ) is a train route on the coast of the sea in central Japan . It is operated by the West Japan Railway Company (JR West).

It takes its name from the city of Obama , whose train station is in the middle of the route.

The 84.3-kilometer single-track train route connects the station in Tsuruga - there connection to the Hokuriku main line - and the station Higashi-Maizuru in Maizuru - there connection to the Maizuru line . Intermediate stops are various stations in Mihama , Wakasa , Obama, Ōi and Takahama are in the middle of the route.

The electrification of the line was completed on March 15, 2003.
