The Ōito Line ( Japanese: 大 糸 線 , Ōito-sen ) is a Japanese railway line that runs between Matsumoto stations in Nagano Prefecture and Itoigawa in Niigata Prefecture . The name Ōito is made up of the spelling of the city Ōmachi ( ) and Itoigawa ( 魚 川 ). The line is operated by JR East and JR West .
