Nantan ( Japanese 南丹 市 , -shi ) is a Japanese city in the north of Kyoto prefecture .

Nantan is located northwest of Kyoto .

history

In Yagi they resided on the no longer existing castle in the 14th / 15th centuries. Century the Naitō as deputy governor ( shugodai ) over the province of Tamba , most recently with the Christian shugodai Naitō Joan .

The city of Nantan ("South Tamba") was founded on January 1, 2006 from the former parishes of Sonobe , Yagi , Hiyoshi and Miyama .
