Michael William "Mike" Binger (born December 20, 1976 in Delray Beach , Florida ) is a professional American poker player .

Personal

Binger received his university degree at North Carolina State University before at the Stanford University the Ph.D. successfully graduated in physics. His younger brother Nick is also a professional poker player and two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker . Binger lives in Las Vegas .

Poker career

Binger has participated in renowned live tournaments since 2003 .

Binger was successful for the first time in July 2006 at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in two tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant . First, he reached a final table and was given for his sixth place more than 100,000 US dollars . He then left other players behind at the main event of the 8770 tournament series and took third place behind Paul Wasicka and Jamie Gold . For this result, Binger received more than $ 4.1 million. In December 2006 and January 2007 he was placed in the prize money at the main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT). At the 2007 WSOP , he was the most frequent player in the prizes, with Binger winning eight times. Among other things, he took third place, which brought him just under 300,000 US dollars. In mid-April 2018 he won a WPT tournament at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas with a prize of more than 315,000 US dollars. In November 2008, the American prevailed at the main event of the WSOP circuit in Lake Tahoe and secured the main prize of over 180,000 US dollars. He finished sixth at the North American Poker Tour Main Event in Los Angeles in mid-November 2010 and received $ 114,000.
