Dennis Novikov (born November 6, 1993 in Moscow ) is an American tennis player .

Career

Dennis Novikov mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . He has celebrated six single and six double victories on the Future Tour so far. On the Challenger Tour so far he has won the doubles tournament in Tallahassee in 2015.

On April 6, 2015, he broke through the top 200 of the world rankings in singles for the first time and his highest ranking was a 190th place in April 2015.

He made his singles debut on the ATP World Tour in August 2012 at the US Open , where he received a wildcard for the main draw. He surprisingly won his first round game against Jerzy Janowicz in four sets before failing in the second round to Julien Benneteau in four sets. For the second time in a main field he played at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells in March 2015 , where he won the qualification and failed in the first main round against Jürgen Melzer in two sets.

He made his first appearance at the World Tour level in doubles with Michael Redlicki , also at the US Open in August 2012. There they won the first round against Bobby Reynolds and Michael Russell in three sets. In the second round, the two lost against Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo with 1: 6, 5: 7.
