Michael Redlicki (born November 16, 1993 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American tennis player .
Career
Redlicki's younger brother Martin (* 1995) also plays tennis professionally. Michael Redlicki rarely played on the junior tour and only played there in 2010 and 2011 at the US Open for matches in a Grand Slam tournament. With 228th place, he reached his highest position among the juniors.
From 2011 to mid-2012 he played his first professional tournaments on the third-class ITF Future Tour , where he won his first tournament in doubles. In August 2012 he received a wildcard from the tournament management of the US Open for the double competition , in which he started with Dennis Novikov . They won their debut match against Michael Russell and Bobby Reynolds , but then lost to Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo in straight sets. A year later, Redlicki played a match on the ATP Challenger Tour for the first time in doubles in Binghamton . Otherwise, he did not take part in any other tournaments until 2017, as he completed his studies between 2012 and 2017 - initially at Duke University and from 2015 at the University of Arkansas . He also played college tennis there , finishing his college career twelfth in the country's rankings in mid-2017.
From 2018 onwards, the American competed regularly in professional tournaments and finally won his first individual title in his third future final. In July he was the highest in the world rankings at 517 .
