Mikal Statham (often also Oliver Statham ; born April 25, 1987 in Auckland ) is a former New Zealand tennis player .

Career

Statham started in 2005 for the first time in a professional tournament on the third-rate ITF Future Tour . After many early defeats, he was placed in the individual tennis world rankings for the first time in 2006 . In 2007 he was at the Challenger tournament in ATP Challenger Brisbane for the first time in a main field of the next higher tournament category, but lost there to the Australian Adam Feeney . From 2008 to mid-2009, Statham won his only three future titles in doubles, which enabled him to achieve his career high of 381 in September 2009. In 2009, the New Zealander made it to the finals once in a future. His career best is 711th and dates to April 2010. With his twin brother Jose Statham he was four times in the main draw at the ATP World Tour event in Auckland . The pairing lost all of their opening games. In addition, Mikal Statham was nominated twice for the New Zealand Davis Cup team in 2009, where he can show a record of 1: 2.

After a long break since 2011 without participating in a tournament, he played two futures in 2018, but is otherwise inactive.
