Wu Di ( Chinese  吴迪 , Pinyin Wú Dí ; born September 14, 1991 in Wuhan ) is a Chinese tennis player .

Career

Wu Di mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour , but always tried his hand at the ATP World Tour . He has already celebrated nine wins for the Chinese Davis Cup team . He played his first game on the World Tour at the Shanghai Rolex Masters 2010 , where he was in the main draw of the tournament with a wildcard . In the first round he met Lu Yen-hsun and clearly lost the game with 1: 6 and 4: 6. At the side of his compatriot Li Na , he competed at the Hopman Cup 2012 in Perth , Australia , where he lost all three preliminary round matches and the team was eliminated in the preliminary round. His first participation in a Grand Slam tournament was at the Australian Open in 2013 , when he received another wildcard, but lost his first round game against Ivan Dodig . In 2014 he started with a wildcard in the main field, before qualifying for the main field for the first time in 2016, also at the Australian Open . Following the Grand Slam tournament, he won the individual competition of the Challenger tournament in Maui . He is the first Chinese to win an individual title on the Challenger Tour.
