Luca Vanni mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . On the Future Tour he has so far won 16 singles and 14 doubles. At the better endowed Challenger tournaments, however, he won once in doubles. In 2011 he won the doubles in Todi against Martin Fischer and Alessandro Motti alongside Stefano Ianni .
In January 2015, Vanni played for the first time at an ATP World Tour tournament in Chennai , where he lost to Ričardas Berankis after successfully qualifying . In February he played his way into the main draw of the 2015 Brasil Open in São Paulo as a qualifier . After a bye in the first round, he reached the final directly. For Vanni these were also his first victories on the World Tour. He lost to Pablo Cuevas in three sets in the final . This was his greatest success so far, which he has not yet been able to build on.
