The Chengdu Open 2017 was a tennis tournament that took place in Chengdu from September 25th to October 1st, 2017 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Shenzhen Open was played in Shenzhen , which like the Chengdu Open belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each received a bye for the second round.

The qualification took place from September 23 to 24, 2017. Four qualifying places were played that entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
