The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell 2017 was a tennis tournament that took place in Barcelona from April 24th to 30th, 2017 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played outdoors on a clay court. In the same week the Hungarian Open was played for the first time in Budapest , but in contrast to the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, which belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 , it only belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Defending champion in singles was Rafael Nadal , in doubles Bob and Mike Bryan won the title last year.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 2,324,905 euros; the total financial liabilities were 2,604,340 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place on April 22nd and 23rd, 2017. Six qualifying places in the individual competition and one place in the doubles competition were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
