Eric Sock (born September 22, 1990 in Lincoln , Nebraska ) is a retired American tennis player .

Career

Eric Sock studied from 2009 to 2013 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln , the study Business Administration and played at the local college team college tennis .

On the professional tour, Sock did not qualify for a tournament on the second-rate ATP Challenger Tour or on the ATP World Tour .

He made his debut and only match on the World Tour with a wildcard in Atlanta . Together with his brother Jack Sock he played in the main draw of doubles, but lost in the first round against Chung Hyeon and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in straight sets. He has not played any other matches since then.

Private

In 2015, Sock, whose younger brother Jack is much more successful on the professional tour, was diagnosed with Lemierre syndrome . After he complained of a sore throat at the beginning, treatment was only given in the acute stage of the disease, so that he had to rely on the support of a ventilator for a week.
