herrH (born May 4, 1984 in Lippstadt) is the pseudonym of the German nursery rhymer and musician Simon Horn .

Life

Simon Horn grew up as the son of the songwriter Reinhard Horn in Lippstadt. His mother Ute Horn is the head of Kontakt Musikverlag , a publishing house specializing in music education. Music was part of his life even in childhood and youth. At the age of three he stood in his father's studio for the first time. As a teenager and young adult, he played in various indie rock bands. Later he studied teaching for primary schools and is now a music and primary school teacher .

In 2011 he used the pseudonym herrH. The lyrics are created with a friend from Berlin who bears the pseudonym herrW and who also acts as the producer of his albums. He signed a music contract with the Sony Music sub-label Europe . The first single I am a penguin was a great success. For the single he was awarded 3rd place in the category "Best Children's Song Album" at the German Rock and Pop Music Prize.

In spring 2012 herrH published the book Practical! Together with Rita Mölders . Music 3: Good voice - good mood in his parents' publishing house, which was accompanied by a series of events of the same name. Shortly afterwards he was awarded the Comenius EduMedia Award for this.

On March 17, 2013, herrH ist da! - The album , his debut album under the name herrH. Finally winter followed on October 17, 2014 ! - The winter album . HerrH has been a regular guest on the TV show Tanzalarm and Singalarm on KiKA since 2015 . The third album, Mach mal Lauter , followed on May 15, 2015 , and was awarded 2nd place in the category "Best Children's Song Album" at the German Rock and Pop Music Prize. A choreography was created for the song Elefantenfunk in the Astrid Delete dance school in Emden, which took first place in the Children's Dance of the Year 2015 competition. The choreography found its way into the ADTV textbook . At the competition, the children presented the dance together with herrH.

His fourth studio album, Poetry Album , was released on May 5, 2017 . This, too, was awarded 2nd place in the category "Best Children's Song Album" at the German Rock and Pop Music Prize in 2018 .

On May 28, 2018, he published the compilation MIXTAPE on the family label KONTAKTE Musikverlag , which is available exclusively through its own distribution channels.

On January 25th, 2019 Horn released his new single High 5 . To do this, he switched from Sony Music to Universal Music Germany / Karussell . The second single Tierisch followed on March 15, 2019 , before his fifth album When I grow up was released on March 29, 2019 . On May 17th, the third single from his current album, Ohrwurm, was released.

Since August 2019, herrH has also been a guest of the new format Tanzalarm Club of the television channel KiKA .

Music genre

In reference to the Neue Deutsche Welle , herrH himself describes his music as "New German Children's Music". He uses different musical styles from rock and pop to hip-hop and dance . The lyrics are humorous and fun, but occasionally also serious and thoughtful.
