Reinhard Horn

Reinhard Horn (born December 6, 1955 in Lippstadt ) is a German children's songwriter .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1974, Horn studied pedagogy in Bonn and Catholic theology and musicology in Münster . After completing his legal clerkship, he started teaching, from which he was given leave in 2002.

In 1971 he met Peter Janssens and Ludger Edelkötter , who inspired him to write new sacred songs. He founded the group contacts, which belongs to the German groups of new spiritual and religious music. Since 1979 Reinhard Horn and his group “Contacts” have been involved in all Catholic Church and Catholic Days and designed central events with his songs and music.

Concert tours and tours have taken him through Germany as well as Argentina , Brazil , Chile , Spain , Switzerland , Austria , France , the Netherlands , Luxembourg and Belarus . He also did radio and television work. In the 1980s, religious musicals such as "Zwischenlandung Ninive", "Get off-change-board", "Stern und Stein" and "Lichtblick" were created. In 1991 the rock requiem "The Children of Chernobyl" was premiered, with 200 performances. At the invitation of Prime Minister Johannes Rau , Reinhard Horn and his group were in Minsk . In 1998 the first performance of the church concert "Spirit of my soul", with which Reinhard Horn is still on the road, took place. Since the beginning of the 1990s, Reinhard Horn set a new focus in the area of ​​new children's songs and the promotion of children through music and movement. A collaboration with Dieter Saldecki and Peter Brandt followed.

He worked u. a. with Susanne Brandt , Eckart Bücken , Arndt Büssing , Markus Ehrhardt , Reinhard Feuersträter , Maria Görges , Dietrich Grönemeyer , Constanze Grüger , Rolf Krenzer , Michael Landgraf , Rita Mölders , Hans-Jürgen Netz , Christa Peikert-Flaspöhler , Jutta Richter , Dorothe Schröder and Ulrich Walter together. Reinhard Horn has been under contract with Universal since 2010 .

Horn has been the musical ambassador of the "Singende Hospitals eV" association since November 2012 and was appointed ambassador for Kindernothilfe in December 2015 .

His son Simon Horn is also a children's songwriter and works under the pseudonym herrH .

Some of his songs are grouped under "Reinhards Liederkoffer" and are broadcast on Bibel TV .

Awards

The book / CD project "Fans, Fair Play & Football Fever" received the " Comenius EduMedia Seal " in 2007 . The climate musical for children “Eisbär, Dr. Ping and the Friends of the Earth ”(in cooperation with BUND ) was awarded by UNESCO in 2007, followed by another award in 2008 as part of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development for“ Real Children's Rights ”.

The religious educational concept developed jointly with Ulrich Walter “With the Peace Cross through the Church Year” has been disseminated in kindergartens, schools and communities. Both this production and “Eisbär, Dr. Ping und die Freunde der Erde ”and“ Fans, Fairplay & Fußballfieber ”were awarded the“ Erasmus EuroMedia Seal of Approval 2007 ”on October 12, 2007 in Vienna.

At the German Rock and Pop Prize , he won first place in the category “Best Children's Song Album” in 2011 with the album “My most beautiful children's songs”, and in 2013 he came second with the album “Lachen, Singen, Tanzen”. In 2015 he won first place again with the album “Christmas under the stars”. The album "Familie sind wir" was awarded in four categories in 2017: 2nd place "Best rock / pop recording studio", 3rd place "Best children's song album", 3rd place "Best studio recording" and 3rd place "Best arrangement" .

The “Reinhard Horn Elementary School Rhumspringe” has existed since September 24, 2017.
