Jordan Cox (born January 7, 1992 in Miami , Florida ) is a retired American tennis player .

Career

Junior tour and college tennis

Jordan Cox trained as a junior at the IMG Academy founded by Nick Bollettieri . In 2009 he reached the final at Wimbledon as a qualifier , which he lost to the Russian Andrei Kuznetsov in three sets.

Cox studied business marketing at Georgia Gwinnett College and played college tennis for the local team from 2014 to 2017 . During this time he helped his team to four consecutive championships in the North American Sports Association of NAIA , an association of small and medium-sized colleges that are not members of the large association of the NCAA .

Professional tour

Cox played between 2008 and 2012 in tournaments of the second and third class ATP Challenger Tour and ITF Future Tour . On the Future Tour he was able to win one single and three double titles. However, he has not played a game on the Future or Challenger Tour since 2012.

He made his debut on the ATP World Tour in Atlanta in 2017 . Together with Emil Reinberg he received a wildcard for the double field. However , he had to admit defeat in three sets against the later finalists Wesley Koolhof and Artem Sitak . He currently has no points in the world rankings . This was his last professional match.
