Birgit Renzl

Birgit Renzl (* 1974 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian economist and professor at the University of Stuttgart .

Life

After studying international economics at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Gothenburg , Renzl worked from 1998 to 2009 as a research assistant at the Institute for Corporate Management at the University of Innsbruck with Hans H. Hinterhuber , where she received her doctorate in 2002 (Dr. rer. Soc. Oec. ) and completed his habilitation in 2006. Research stays took her to the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and the University of St. Gallen . From 2009 to 2015 Birgit Renzl held the professorship for strategy and organization at the private university Schloss Seeburg and was the dean of business administration . Since March 2015 she is Chair of Business Administration and Organization at the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Stuttgart. In addition, from 2007 to 2018, Renzl was an external lecturer for strategic corporate management and business issues relating to business start-ups at the University of Salzburg .

research

Using both qualitative and quantitative empirical methods, Renzl conducts research in the areas of knowledge management , strategy and change as well as digitization . She has written over 70 articles in books and journals.

Renzl is on the editorial board of the magazine “Management Learning”. She is a member of the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration, the European Academy of Management (EURAM), the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS), Competence-based Strategic Management (CBSM) and the Schmalenbach Working Group on Corporate Management.
