Siegfried F. Franke

Siegfried Franz Franke (* 1942 in Münsterberg in Silesia ) is a German economist.

Life

The trained wholesale and foreign trade merchant studied economics and Slavic studies from 1968 to 1972 at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg . Following the doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. At the chair for economic policy at the University of Dortmund , he became professor at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in 1982 . From 1986 to 1990 he studied law at the Fernuniversität Hagen and in 1990 did his habilitation in economics at the University of Dortmund. From April 1991 to March 2010 he headed the Department for Economic Policy and Public Law at the Institute for Economics and Law at the University of Stuttgart . From 1998 to 2002 he was Dean of the Faculty of History, Social and Economic Sciences. From 2012 to 2015 he held the Chair of Economic Policy at the Andrássy University in Budapest .

His research focuses on the formation of political will and decision-making in the specific form of labor market policy, foreign trade policy (globalization), education policy, drug policy, monetary policy, tax policy and environmental policy as well as the voter-related behavior of associations, civil societies, parties and government.
