The Hintere Engehalde (also: Hinderi Ängihalde ) is a common quarter in District II (Länggasse-Felsenau). The quarter is on the west bank of the Aare on the narrow peninsula on the slope. It connects to the Vordere Engehalde from the Felsenausteg. In the west the quarter borders on Äussere Enge and Rossfeld , in the north on Aaregg .

In 2019, the population is 434, of which 351 are Swiss and 83 are foreigners.

The residential development is mainly laid out in terraces on the banks of the Aare.

The area is spanned by the Felsenau Viaduct on the A1 motorway .

The RBS connects to the center via the Bern-Felsenau S-Bahn station. The bus line 21 as well as the bus line 34 of the RBS connect the quarter with the center.
