Aaregg is a common quarter in District II (Länggasse-Felsenau) on the Engeh peninsula . It borders on Tiefenau , Rossfeld , Hintere Enghalde and the Aare in the south.
In 2019, 1261 inhabitants lived in the quarter, 878 of them Swiss and 383 foreigners.
Aaregg is defined by a row of multi-family houses and some single-family houses. In a 2017 survey, the population indicated a high level of attachment to the neighborhood, and a gap was found between the long-established Swiss and the newcomers - mostly migrants with children. The lack of infrastructure was also criticized. The RBS connects the Bern-Tiefenau station with the Bern station by means of the S-Bahn. The RBS bus line 34 also runs there towards the center.
