The Beundenfeld is Berner Statistical District 23 in the district IV ( Church field Schosshalde ). These include the common quarters of BernArena , Beundenfeld / Baumgarten , Burgfeld , Galgenfeld commercial zone , Grosse Allmend , Hinterer Schermen , Kleine Allmend , Schermenwald , Berna settlement and Waldau . The district is located in the east of Bern and forms the city limits to Ittigen and Ostermundigen .
In 2019, 2835 inhabitants lived in the statistical district, 2332 of them Swiss and 503 foreigners.
Beundenfeld used to be a field name on both sides of Papiermühlestrasse between Laubeggstrasse and Guisanplatz.
In the district are the Bernexpo trade fair and exhibition grounds, the Festhalle Bern (which is to be replaced by a modern hall for conferences and trade fairs), the PostFinance-Arena ice rink (formerly BernArena), the Grosse and Kleine Allmend , the Schermenwald and the University Psychiatric Services Bern (UPD) in the Waldau . Several small and medium-sized companies are located in the Galgenfeld industrial zone and the Hinteren Schermen. Residential areas are primarily Burgfeld and the Berna settlement.
