Hinterer Schermen is a common quarter in District IV ( Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde ) and the statistical district of Beundenfeld . It borders the Grosse Allmend , the Wankdorffeld , the Schermenwald and the Waldau . In the north it forms the city boundary with Ittigen , in the southeast with Ostermundigen .
In 2019 there were 20 residents in the quarter.
There is an industrial park between Schermenweg in the south and Wölfistrasse in the north, which is divided by the Autobahn 6 and the Bern Thun railway line. The Road Traffic and Shipping Office of the Canton of Bern (SVSA) with a traffic inspection center and the Wankdorf motorway maintenance depot are in the south. The Swiss commercial vehicle association ASTAG , the recycling service Alpabern with a supply yard as well as the Stämpfli-Verlag , an internet provider and a sporting goods chain are based there. The P17 car park for large events on the Allmend is also located in the quarter.
The family garden area "Schermenwald" is one of around 2000 gardens on 28 areas in the city. There are a few single and multi-family houses on Schermenwaldstrasse in the north. To the east of Papiermühlenstrasse is the Bern Jewish Cemetery .
