Solacher / Melchenbühl is a common district in Bern in the statistical district Murifeld and the district IV ( Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde ). It is the easternmost quarter of Bern and borders the Bern-Wittigkofen and Merzenacker quarters . It forms the city limits to Ostermundigen and Melchenbühl as a district of Muri .
In 2019, 26 people lived in the quarter.
The site is mainly used for agriculture, which is mainly done from the Melchenbühlgut. On a nearby hill is the grave monument for Marie Berset-Müller (1815–1898), founder of the Berset-Müller Foundation, her husband and daughter. She bequeathed her property in Melchenbühl to the Swiss Confederation as a retirement home for teachers and teachers' widows. Since 1980 the Melchenbühl with the name Terra vecchia has been a working and living community for the reintegration of drug addicts. In the former retirement home, the foundation now maintains the "Construction and Innovation" division.
In the westernmost tip of buildings are located around the Henzi floor, the north of Melchenbühlweg the ensemble from Wittigkofen Castle belong.
