The Egelmoos is a common quarter in the statistical district 22 Bern-Schosshalde of the district IV Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde . It borders the Wyssloch , Ostring , Gryphenhübeli / Thunplatz and Schosshalde / Obstberg quarters .

In 2019, 983 people lived in the usual quarter, 826 of them Swiss and 157 foreigners.

The Egelmoos settlement is located in the quarter between Bürglenstrasse, Gurnigelweg, Ostring and Selibühlweg, the oldest buildings planned between 1933 and 1935 and built in 3 construction stages. These are single-family terraced houses that have been built by the second building cooperative of the administrative staff in Bern. In 1951 a few more buildings were built. Later on, more multi-family row houses were built in the quarter. Egelmoos is primarily a residential area.

The Egelmösli is located in the quarter with the Egelsee as a small pond and adjoining sports field. A pond was enlarged in the 19th century for the extraction of natural ice. Shortly before the Second World War, today's Egelsee with the park was created through amelioration.

The Domicil Egelmoos as a retirement and nursing home is located in the middle of the quarter.

The tram line 7 and the city bus line 28 connect with the center.
