Rosengarten (also Rosegarte ) is the name of a common quarter in the statistical district 22 Bern-Schosshalde of the district IV Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde . It is located on the slope above the Aare and borders Altenberg , Spitalacker , Beundenfeld / Baumgarten , Schönberg / Bitzius and Schosshalde / Obstberg .
In 2019, 15 people lived in the usual quarter.
The Rosengarten is a park in the city of Bern, from which you have a good view of the old town of Bern. Around 250 types of blooming roses can be seen in summer . A total of over 400 types of roses and irises as well as 28 different rhododendrons and a water lily pond can be viewed . In spring, the cherry blossom of Japanese cherry trees is a highlight. From 1765 to 1877 it was the cemetery of the lower old town. The park has only been a public facility since 1913. The Rosengarten restaurant with a good view of the city from the veranda or terrace is located in the south of the quarter. There is also a large playground and a reading pavilion.
The city bus line 10 connects with the center. A steeper footpath leads from Bärengraben to the park, from where you can take bus number 12
