Freudenberg is a common quarter in the statistical district 22 Bern-Schosshalde of the district IV Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde . It borders on the Jolimont , Ostring , Schöngrün / Vermont and Bern-Sonnenhof districts . The Bern-Ostring motorway exit of the A12 takes up a large part of the quarter .

In 2019, 493 people lived in the usual quarter, 252 of them Swiss and 241 foreigners.

The headquarters of Swissinfo , the international service of the Swiss radio and television company SRG SSR, are located in Giacomettistrasse . It offers independent reporting on Switzerland.

There is a residential development east of Giacomettistrasse. With the Galgenfeld and Murifeld commercial zone, Freudenberg is one of the districts with a high relative poverty rate (defined when less than 50% of the median income of the city of Bern (CHF 49,693.00) is earned). The residential area is judged to be unattractive due to the motorway slip road and industrial area.

The tram line 7 and the city bus line 28 connect with the center.
