Ostring is the name of a common quarter in the statistical district 22 Bern-Schosshalde of the district IV Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde . It comprises the residential development on both sides of the Ostring street between Thunplatz in the south and the pedestrian bridge over the Autobahn 12 near Bürglenstrasse in the north, not far from the access to the Ostring motorway exit located in the quarter. Neighboring quarters are Egelmoos , Wyssloch , Zentrum Paul Klee , Schöngrün / Vermont , Freudenberg , Jolimont , Murifeld , Elfenau / Brunnadern and Gryphenhübeli / Thunplatz .
In 2019, 1606 people lived in the usual quarter, of which 1096 were Swiss and 510 were foreigners.
The residential development consists of row houses that stand on the west side of the street across the east ring and along the east side. The Brother Klaus Catholic Church is located on Thunplatz .
The tram line 7 , the city bus line 28 and the bus lines 40 of the RBS stop along the east ring.
