Jolimont is a Bernese common quarter , which is south of Buchserstrasse in the statistical district Murifeld and north of it in the statistical district Schosshalde and belongs to the district IV ( Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde ). It borders on the common quarters Murifeld , Ostring , Freudenberg and Sonnenhof .
In 2019, 518 people lived in the quarter, 406 of them Swiss and 112 foreigners.
Jolimont was the name of a country estate between Kasthoferstrasse and Jolimontstrasse. The Herrenstock (Kasthoferstrasse 38) was built at the beginning of the 18th century.
The residential development consists of row houses and some apartment buildings. In 2017 it was found that many children with a migration background live in this area. The poverty rate is estimated to be low. The proportion of family households is also low at 15%. The proportion of children aged 0–12 is also rather low at 8.0%. All quarters have a high number of one-person households. The Sonnenhof elementary school, which was built in 1950 and expanded after 2006, is located in the neighborhood.
