The Swiss Indoors Basel 2018 was a tennis tournament that took place in Basel from October 22 to 28, 2018 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2018 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the Erste Bank Open was played in Vienna , which, like the Swiss Indoors, belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category . The venue for the tournament was the St. Jakobshalle , which is located just behind the Basel city limits in Münchenstein .

Last year's winners were Roger Federer in singles and Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers in doubles .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total financial commitments were 1,984,420 euros, the prize money was 2,442,740 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place on October 20 and 21, 2018 in the St. Jakobshalle . Four qualifying places in the individual competition and one place in the doubles competition were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky-loser pairing in doubles.
