The Davidoff Swiss Indoors Basel 2001 was a tennis tournament that took place from October 23 to 28, 2001 in Basel . It was part of the 2001 ATP Tour and was played indoors on carpet. The venue for the tournament was the St. Jakobshalle , which is located just behind the Basel city limits in Münchenstein .

Defending champion in the singles was Thomas Enqvist , who no longer took part in the tournament this year. This year's event was won by the British Tim Henman against the local hero Roger Federer , who lost the final for the second time in a row. For Henman it was already the second title in Basel after 1998 and the eighth title overall on the ATP Tour. In doubles, Donald Johnson and Piet Norval were the defending champions, but they didn't take part either. The winners Ellis Ferreira and Rick Leach against the Indian duo Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes in straight sets.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.
