Meta Plückebaum , née Meta Weber (born August 12, 1876 in Dortmund , † August 9, 1945 in Düsseldorf ), was a German animal , flower and portrait painter and graphic artist .

Plückebaum was born as Meta Weber in Dortmund. In Düsseldorf she received private art lessons from the painter Hermann Emil Pohle . There she was one of the first members of the Düsseldorf Artists' Association founded in 1911 . When she then stayed in Munich and frequented Schwabing's artistic circles , she met the genre painter and etcher Carl Plückebaum . They became a couple and got married. They lived and worked together in Düsseldorf, where she shared a studio with her husband on Bismarckstrasse, was one of the well-known greats of the art scene and the Malkasten artists' associationbelonged to. She died at the age of 68 in Düsseldorf and was buried in the Nordfriedhof .

Plückebaum mainly painted, drew and etched lovely cat, puppy and flower motifs, which are still very popular today, not only in Europe but also in the United States. This success led to orders to illustrate children's books. Portraits of children are also part of her work. Her picture Summer Flowers was exhibited in 1939 at the Great German Art Exhibition in the House of German Art in Munich.
