Stéphane Bohli (born July 25, 1983 in Geneva ) is a former Swiss tennis player .

Career

In his junior career, Bohli won the doubles competition at the US Open in 2001 and began his professional career the following year. In his career he won three singles titles on the Challenger Tour and was once in the double final of a World Tour tournament . In 2008 he lost in Gstaad on the side of Stanislas Wawrinka against Jaroslav Levinský and Filip Polášek . In Grand Slam tournaments , he only managed to successfully qualify at the US Open in 2008 , but he was eliminated in the opening round against Jiří Vaněk .

In 2007 and 2008 he was appointed to the Swiss Davis Cup team for four matches . He was used a total of six times in singles and won four of these matches. In October 2013 at the Challenger tournament in Geneva he played his last game , in which he was defeated by the Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker in four sets.

Due to repeated injury problems, Bohli announced his retirement from active competitive sport on February 3, 2014 and became a trainer at the Swiss Tennis performance center in Biel .
